I have been working on a chess set to be machined from metal in my spare time.  The shapes of most of the figures are defined by splines of varying curvature, which makes it a slow process.

I have rendered the bishop in bronze, the pawn in iron, and the rook in aluminum. The project is ongoing and I will continue to add drawings as I complete them.

Most of the pieces will need to be turned on CNC lathes with some help from a mill.  The most challenging piece is the knight, which will require more thought.
